Heart Smiles

I can’t remember the last time I spent a day doing nothing. As far as the eye can see, I don’t have one of those days coming up. I’ve been privileged to hang out with some amazing people this year. My heart is swelling at the positive energy and love!

#GetYouAFriend is something I started saying to my friends about a year ago. It’s what I say to everyone I meet now. You’re never to old to make new friends or build new relationships. Some people are scarred and have hurts and disappointments as a hurdle, but you’ve got to do the work. Remember if Judas betrayed Christ and Peter denied Him … you can expect the same.

It’s all in how you process relationships and whether or not you can enter into them with an open mind. You have to treat people differently, according to their talents and positions in your life. Everyone doesn’t get unfiltered access to your life.

That’s the main rule I live by now. I must be present in every moment and let the Joy of my Soul shine through my Heart. I love to recap time spent with folks. I catch myself smiling at the thoughts… HEART SMILES ♥️😁

Show Up!

Show Up with the mindset that everything is a teachable experience and your outlook starts to shift. You’ll start to notice new things and those things will make your heart smile. You’ll get more comfortable “entering the room” and become braver!

Showing up has paid me big dividends. I was leery initially. Telling myself that I was just going to pop in and say ‘hi’ or only stay an hour but then… I’d Show Up, relax and enjoy myself and most cases stay the entire time.

Now I try to Show Up to everything! People that are genuinely “for you” or “your people” are excited when you show up. Their smiles get a little bigger. Their voices go up an octave when the greet you! I’ve developed so many meaningful relationship over the past few years just because “I Showed Up!”

Dividends of Showing Up:

  • Rise in endorphins
  • New experiences
  • Meet new people
  • Build relationships
  • Learning likes and dislikes
  • What to NOT do again
  • How people really view you
  • Going to bed with a smile on your face
  • Self awareness and confidence
  • Extroversion practice
  • The experience itself
  • Fight against your desire to decline an invitation for fear of being uncomfortable. Only decline if your gut tells you to. When you show up, be present. Push past your boundaries. Smile and talk with people, especially the ones that feel like sunshine!
  • My advice for you today : SHOW UP!

The Journey Begins

This is my real reaction! I am anxious, nervous, and slightly terrified to birth what has been growing inside of me for the past two years? Sharing raw emotions and feelings. My journey. My experiences. How God gave me beauty for ashes.

Heart of my mama. Attitude of my papa. Personality like a ray of sunshine. I don’t know how to sugar coat my life other than to smile while I share. Time to let go and share how I made it over. I made it through heartbreak of the worst kind, losing my parents while going through a divorce.

Things happen. You need to know that what happens to you isn’t always about you. I hope some of my experiences are able to help others see light where they’ve only seen darkness. Push someone to give through their struggle and watch things turn around for them. I encourage you to love, love again and then love some more.

I have hesitated and rationalized why I shouldn’t start this blog and just keep a journal. After all this puts me in a vulnerable place. I’ve been sharing lately, so much so, that my friends are encouraging me to finally release the messages. #GetYouAFriend

Sometimes you just have to jump! #PuttingItAllOnTheLine

This article is me at the edge of the cliff….

I’m a bird, you gotta let me fly!

I hope you enjoy this journey with me!
